Renew Your Smile With Veneers

Isn’t it time you finally had a smile you couldn’t wait to show off?Veneers

If you are dealing with any of these minor-to-moderate cosmetic issues then find out how our Morristown, NJ, cosmetic dentist Dr. Jay Schuster at Metro Dental Associates could easily turn your smile around with porcelain veneers:

  • Discolorations and stains
  • Chips, cracks and fractures
  • Spaces between teeth
  • Crowding, overlapping, crooked or twisted teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • Misshapen, malformed or small teeth

You wouldn’t believe how many aesthetic issues could be completely hidden from plain sight with dental veneers. Veneers are often made from porcelain, as this highly translucent tooth-colored material mimics the look of real teeth.

When these custom shells are adhered to the front of your teeth they completely change the color, shape, length and even size of your smile. If you have an uneven smile or think your teeth are too short, veneers can even improve symmetry and lengthen your teeth to alter “gummy smiles”.

Before getting traditional veneers, a small amount of enamel will be removed from the front of your tooth. This is necessary for allowing there to be more room for which to place your veneers. Since enamel doesn’t grow back, once this tooth preparation is complete it cannot be reversed. If the idea of having veneers forever has you a bit nervous, talk to our Morristown dentist about whether no-prep veneers may be a better approach for you.

Since each veneer is specially crafted and designed to fit over your teeth, you will have to wait up a week to get your new restorations. In the meantime, we will decide whether or not we need to place temporary veneers over your teeth to protect them from sensitivity or other issues while you wait for your new restorations to be made.

Once your veneers are ready to be placed, you will come back in for a fitting. We may temporarily apply them to your teeth to make sure you truly love the look of your new smile before applying bonding resin to the front of your teeth, placing the veneers and then hardening the resin with a special dental light. One final polish and you’ll have a smile that’s ready to be flaunted!

If you want to find out if you could be the best candidate for dental veneers then what are you waiting for? Dr. Jay Schuster is a general member of the American Academy Cosmetic Dentistry. He also completed a cosmetic dentistry residency at NYU after graduating dental school there. Call Metro Dental Associates in Morristown, NJ, today at (973) 538-2563 to find out how we can help make your smile dreams a reality.
